When in Sedona

My 12 favorite things to do …

Fun fact, when I first arrived in Sedona, my car clock reset to 12 midnight on it’s own!
There are so many places I love that aren’t on this list, but I hope this inspires you to explore this beautiful, vibrant town and it’s surrounding areas.

1. Schnebly Hill off roading.
I stumbled across this place by accident! The girl at the AirBnB who I had just met asked me if I wanted to join her on a sunset drive in her jeep. I naively brought my dog Maya for the ride, thinking we were just going somewhere for half an hour. Um, 4 hours later … we arrived back in Sedona intact!
We didn’t know that when locals hit a point on Schnebly Rd, they then turn around, so we drove all the way across the mountain to the 17. By the time we got to the crest, it was pitch black and I recall a few moments saying “not that way that’s the cliff”! Oh my. Maya was in the back grinning from ear to ear to my surprise as we hit each boulder that the jeep had to climb… The moon was full, and it truly was magical, looking down into the distance on the Sedona lights. Though Sedona has a no night light policy, we could clearly see it fade into the distance as we continued on into the forest, and ended up on the 17. Then we had to drive up to Flagstaff and back down to Sedona! Schnebly Rd was the only road into Sedona back in the day via horse and cart. Theodore Schnebly named Sedona after his wife! Some love!
A week later we decided to do it again, as I wanted to shoot my music video for ‘Blazing’ up there, this time in the light of day, and this time we turned around at the sensible u-turn spot!
For those not wanting to go off roading, just before you hit that part of the dirt road, there’s a car park to the left, where you can stop and hike from. There are stunning lookout points, and it’s a place where locals have drum circles and events. Locals speak of UFO sightings too. Bonus : I saw a man walking his pet rabbit on a leash.

2. Photon Genius & V.I.B.E Quantum Pulse Machine at Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace is a very special place. Many crystals, books and psychic readings available… I go there for the Photon Genius & V.I.B.E Machine. The Photon Genius is a full spectrum sauna with infrared heat, photonic light, color and sound therapy. I brought my dog Maya for the 30 minute sessions, and once she got the gist of it, she plonked herself down right infront, on a towel of course! It oxygenates cells, pumps the lymph, clears out heavy metals, heals cells, tissues, organs and the immune system. Then onto the V.I.B.E Machine because it’d be rude not to! It’s a bio-photonic energizer that increases our inner connectivity to our DNA, our divine blueprint, and recalibrates the body’s biofield. The whole experience is epic and I always float out feeling renewed!

3. Chocolatree Organic Cafe.
This is where I go after my Crystal Palace reboot, since it’s a minute away! It’s a vegetarian oasis that has an indoor and outdoor area with bohemian vibes, where there is often live music playing. There’s a chocolate factory on site, hence a huge selection of chocolate truffles, as well as an organic garden out back. They sell many superfoods, holistic items, essential oils, books, organic clothing, unique products and their menu is varied. The lines can be long, so be prepared! My favorite thing to have is the HEART LOVE tonic dipped with caramel almond truffles! #winning

4. Airport Mesa Vortex.
If you are lucky enough to find a parking spot, this vortex is close to everything and has a very easy climb to the top. There are hiking trails in the area with 360 views of everything. I lay on these rocks for what feels like an age, and enjoy the feeling of the rocks. Sounds strange, until you do it yourself and most likely feel it too! Very grounding.

5. Grasshopper Point.
Not the cleanest water along Oak Creek because it’s one of the last points before Sedona town, but this spot is amazing for cliff jumping! You have to walk on boulders to get to the creek, and then you can either sit there and enjoy the entertainment or jump for yourself!

6. Peace Place Gifts & Reiki Center Sedona.
It’s off the beaten track, but when I first went to this shop, on my first day in Sedona, the man working there kindly gifted me a hand held crystal singing bowl for no reason, other than sheer kindness, and I still use it! It’s a mini heart chakra bowl, I love it. They have an incredible selection of crystals and singing bowls. They also have reiki workshops and healing sessions.

7. Amitabha Stupa and Peace Park.
Here is an outdoor destination for prayer, meditation and peace. It’s an easy walk slightly uphill to 2 Buddhist stupas, a Native American Medicine Wheel, a mahogany statue of Shakyamuni Buddha, prayer wheels, along with trails and quiet spots. It gets very hot so I recommend going first thing in the morning or just before the park closes if you have pets.

8. Slide Rock State Park.
If you love waterslides then how about a natural rock waterslide?! It was originally the Pendley Homestead, a 43-acre historic apple farm. A short walk across this famous park is a refreshing part of Oak Creek Canyon, where you can enjoy natures waterslide, or cliff jump off mini rocks, and swim. There is an old shop along the way that has refreshments, and you get to see some old American vintage cars too.

9. Local Juicery.
Organic fresh juice, interesting vegan products, acai bowls, superfood smoothies, delicious snacks! I always run into friends from LA here, and next door they have an eco store with organic clothing, perfumes, jewelry and such things.

10. Chapel Of The Holy Cross.
The view, the view! Sitting high atop the red rocks, as you enter the chapel you may light candles or sit down and enjoy tranquility.

11. Creekside Plaza.
A fun place close to the center of town to walk around. Lots of quaint Spanish decor vibes, art shops, cafes, and restaurants.

12. Harding Spring.
On my way in or out of Sedona, I always stop here and top up the water jugs I travel with. The drive is stunning with lots of potential stop off points along the way like local markets, creek look out points, picnic areas and swim holes. The drinking water from these taps are amazing, I always meet interesting people (some of which have been coming to collect water for over 30 years), and it’s usually packed with people wanting some of that life force, liquid mana!
